apparently i can't quote-post my other accounts, will fix that later, but if you had friends or colleagues using med-mastodon.com, please go see if you can find them on another fediverse host or help them FIND a new fediverse host. It seems the #medmastodon instance disappeared very abruptly and this leaves lots of doctors, scientiests and academics effectively wiped off of the fediverse.

HEY CANADA. MP Elizabeth May is sponsoring a petition to get Electoral Reform back in front of Parliament. Could all of us who were utterly betrayed in 2016 when JT reneged on this please go put our electrons onto this one? yes, yes, the petitions don't mean a thing WILL happen, but there was already a good plan for this set out that got shelved. The longer we delay, the longer we risk what's happening in the US happening here.

One of the problems with the fediverse(s) is that there are in fact cash costs to compute share, and we can't wave it away with VC and ad revenue.
