Presupposition (P) 1 If taxation is theft, then taxation is a reassignment of control from the rightful owner to another party; aggression arising from conflict (contradicting actions). P2 Theft presupposes a theory of property, because calling something “theft” already assumes there is a rightful owner. P3 A property right is an ought claim about who should control a given scarce means in cases of conflict. P4 To say that “theft is justified” is to say that the latecomer ought to control the scarce means instead of the firstcomer. In other words, you are simply redefining the property right in favor of the taker. Conclusion (C) Therefore, “justified theft” is a contradiction, because once you claim it is justified, it is no longer theft. You have merely reassigned the property right. Theft by definition cannot be justified.
