We very much appreciate DIAG! The women of ROAR are mostly center or left, Democrats or disillusioned former Democrats, who have been called “far right” because we don’t think kids should be castrated. Having one major party being un-electable is not healthy.

We are a small NYC-based women’s group who wants to host public lesbian-only events. We can’t. After New York’s Prop 1 passed last year, putting “gender identity” in our state constitution, it now counts as discrimination if we turn away straight men who say the magic words, “I am a lesbian.” It should be obvious where the hate is coming from. Despite the corporate-funded party for straight people, it is now illegal in NY state for gays and lesbians to have their own spaces. Does Mayor Adams support this blatant homophobia? Or does he think the “hate” comes from the actual LGB calling out the obvious homophobia of letting self-declared “gender identity” subsume sex?

We can't believe the callous reception we got when we met with @U.S. Senator John Fetterman's aide, Jason A. Smith, to discuss women's rights. This man was the definition of a progressive misogynist. He dismissed women's concerns about men claiming womanhood to get access to women's prisons—an extremely well-documented phenomenon, leading to incarcerated women being raped and assaulted across the country—chuckled at our very real fear of sexual violence, and didn't know what a single-sex space was. A rape survivor left the meeting in tears. Meanwhile, he couldn't even say the word 'rape.' Below is our call to action. Does @U.S. Senator John Fetterman endorse this behavior? Does he support women? Or, like the aide said, does he want liberal women to start voting Republican, since they can't count on him for a smidge of support during a major human rights crisis? Because right now, it sounds like losing half the vote sounds pretty good to Fetterman. Bonus: use this thread to list your "favorite" male inmate in a women's prison. Extra credit if he suddenly discovered he was "female" after being incarcerated. We really, desperately wanted to like @npub1grm9...hxyl. We love bold women. But she won’t even meet with @WoLF or the grassroots women’s group her constituent runs to talk about women’s rights. Denying women’s material reality is a losing position.

We had representatives in this meeting, and it’s all true. Apparently the approachable “everyman” position is to laugh at feminists when they talk about vulnerable women being sexually assaulted. Condescending, dismissive, and misogynistic.

Incarcerated women matter. No amount of lying, burying, shame, or misdirection will change that women in prison are not validation fodder for sexually violent men.
