Anyone using a kindle as an RSS reader? I have a kindle 8 touch that's just sitting and I think having it as a feed reader would get me to use it more regularly.
I'm feeling super tired today, but I had a senior come pop in this afternoon after having him in chemistry for the previous two years to tell me he was accepted into Michigan State University's chemical engineering program. I'm feeling pretty good now. #teaching
Today in the classroom: We had a long holiday weekend followed by a snow day with _another_ snow day likely for Friday. It's a mess. First year chem is finally taking their bonding test. We'll see how it goes. Second year chem is peer-teaching factors affecting reaction rate. Hopefully, we'll do the iodine clock tomorrow to collect reaction rate data to analyze. #chemistry #teaching :cupofcoffee:
The sunrise grabbed my attention this morning. #watercolor #mastoart image
We had a snow day today so I decided to come in and prep some chemicals for our iodine clock lab this week. I ran a practice and was able to get a really nice result giving the correct rate law. I really like this lab because it's a good check of lab procedures. Groups have to work together to manage all kinds of samples, dilutions, and accurate measurement data to get a good result. I just hope we can get a normal school day in this week with the weather...
Is there a way to locally test nginx url rewrite rules?
My blog migration is getting closer. I ran the full sync script tonight on my back catalog of nearly 800 posts and they all imported in ~6 seconds, which was cool. I've got to do some work with image urls and I still need to sort out URL handling so I don't break old links, but the time is coming closer.
Aaaaand school is out tomorrow!
School closings are starting to roll in because of excessive cold temperatures tonight and tomorrow. The two largest districts nearby have closed, so I'm anticipating another snow day, but I'm trying not to get too excited.
