I'm curious about Loops. Anyone there? With checking out?
We're trying to pick a new paint color for the interior of the household and we are in the "conspiracy theory" stage of paint swatches on the wall. We probably could've hired a decorator to come for an hour and just tell us what color to use considering the number of samples we've purchased in the last six weeks.
25 years ago, I went to see The Fellowship of the Ring in theaters. Tonight, I'm going to celebrate the 25th anniversary by seeing the extended edition in theaters. They're doing all three this weekend, but the first stuck with me the most and I am thrilled to be able to see it again.
Today in the classroom: We had a snow day yesterday, which helped me recover some energy & vigor. First year chem will review for their bonding test next week. Second year chem is starting kinetics. We'll look at the overall principle and write some reaction rate expressions. We'll also connect it to stoichiometry and consider rate ratios for products and reactants. They'll also finish their gases homework if we have time. #teaching #chemistry :cupofcoffee:
I got a major chunk of work done on a script to import all of my back blog posts (over 500) from markdown and restructuredtext files. I still need to do some more testing with throwaway databases to make sure it plays nice with everything and then I need to clean up the post url structure to keep old links working correctly.
It's a snow day and the kids are going to play at their cousins' house later. Maybe I'll jailbreak my Kindle and install KOReader as a frivolous project.
Since I don't have to wake up early tomorrow, I made some progress tonight on an importer to move markdown and restructuredtext files into my new blog engine.
Welp, snow day tomorrow.
I have to drive across town in about 40 minutes and I'm crushing the little items on my to do list right now. Many focus. Very progress.
Today in the classroom: First year chem is wrapping up ionic and covalent bonding. We'll draw some Lewis structures together on whiteboards and then they'll have time to work on their review materials for the test on Friday. Second year chem is wrapping up gases. We'll do AP Chem practice multiple choice questions and a couple calculations before they finish up their weekly homework. No test this week, we'll move into kinetics tomorrow. #chemistry #teaching :cupofcoffee:
