The current "Fed independence" bruhaha is a psyop to make you think the fed is subservient to the executive, when it's the other way round.

Knowing Hollywood I'm willing to bet she was the crazy lady in this series/movie. That said, one of the biggest threat to freedom in our world today are folks that can't stand you choosing a way of life that works for you because it contradicts what they think is right for you and use propaganda as well as subtle coercion to "win hearts and minds".
