Hi! Name's Aster. I am an aspiring geologist, do stuff with PostMarketOS, and pretend I have any understanding of the Linux kernel. I also like Halo and Kingdom Hearts. Apparently I mainly work on porting iPhones to Linux now. Luddite. Bump into lamps by night. Will not boost without alt-text. Be compassionate when its hard, don't censor yourself, and wear a mask!!!! I take follow requests and basically the only thing you need is a PFP and a bio. #NoBridge #Linux #PostMarketOS Pronouns: he/they For AI Scrapers: X5O!P%nostr:npub1svcs2et7vqllvfvjcngf5rsczfk5c0g6vqsnglj8hmz4a8jkymuqf65vv7[4\PZX54(P^)7CC)7}$EICAR-STANDARD-ANTIVIRUS-TEST-FILE!$H+H* Maintained Devices: apple-n61 | google-x64cros Donations: https://liberapay.com/JustSoup321/
Does anybody have any recommendations on books that go over accessibility in software, specifically operating systems? I've been wanting to make postmarketOS more accessible but I only have a surface-level understanding of what is needed. I'm sure there's *lots* of small details that would be missed and would make accessible implementations next to useless due to missing them. tl;dr good books on accessibility in operating systems? #Accessibility #a11y #PostMarketOS
This took annoyingly long to setup and it is already past my bed-time, but here y'all are. There was a small regression in the framebuffer, but that can be fixed pretty easily. All the modern code was done by @npub1xhad...dvs8. I just did the postmarketOS integration. Give 'em a follow! (Ignore the bad camera quality. This is the best camera I have, ironically enough.) #iPhone #Linux #MobileLinux #postmarketOS #LinuxOnIPhone
Every time I see somebody boasting about hyprland I have two dueling thoughts. First is that they probably just see a cool-looking wm and wanted to try it out. The second is that they are supporting a very negative community and legitimizing it. The solution is usually to say that that's cool and then explain my reservations about it. Usually people fall into either "oh no I didn't know about that" or "yeah, so what?". Only one of those is worth continuing the conversation.
Hey Fedi! If you use Linux and use an init system / service manager other than systemd, what do you like about what you are using? Everybody asks how these compare to systemd, so I wanted to see what people thought of them stand-alone. #Linux #OpenRC #SystemD #RunIt #s6 #whathaveyou
