how do we better fund technology that won't make anyone super rich? all of FOSS and decentralized media fits this category. it has the potential to do a ton of good and lead to so many sustainable smaller businesses, but because nobody might become a billionaire if it works out, nobody will invest a million etc. #tech #investment

#MAGA claims he shot her to save his and others' lives. This might make sense if it stopped the car as I've now heard some of them claim, but that's obviously not true. And of course if she had wanted to hit him, she wouldn't have waited till he had passed at least most of the way in front of her car. The car did go forward after he shot her, proving he didn't protect himself (it didn't hit him) but did endanger others (it drove off totally out of control). Their story makes no sense. #ReneeGood

I'm seeing people trying to shut down the #GoFundMe for the asshole who killed #ReneeGood. While I'm fully against giving him anything, I am also against trying to prevent others from doing so. These kinds of efforts have successfully targeted things I supported in the past. It sucks that we have middlemen for giving people money. Just one more reason we need a protocol for bank to bank fiat transfer. Like knowing a fedi or email address, we should be able to give people money. #interledger

Saying they are focusing on the western hemisphere is just PR to try to placate antiwar #MAGA folks. They are not pulling back from other imperialistic commitments around the globe. All the bases will remain open. The ships are sailing everywhere. The weapon sales continue and the Pentagon budget is going up.

We are in this fucked up moment because we gave the guy who loves playing to our base instincts, the greatest tool to do exactly that. The tabloid king + the social media algo Good government requires the people to strive to follow our better angels. To think of the public interest. To not try to cheat the system at every moment. He tells us that's for suckers. And then proves it as he enriches himself at others' expense. The corporate platforms profit by triggering us. The worst of humanity.
