how do we better fund technology that won't make anyone super rich? all of FOSS and decentralized media fits this category. it has the potential to do a ton of good and lead to so many sustainable smaller businesses, but because nobody might become a billionaire if it works out, nobody will invest a million etc. #tech #investment
So does #MAGA believe that the man who stood in front of the tanks in Tiananmen Square deserved to die because he was trying to block the government from doing its job? He was protesting actions he felt should be illegal. So was #ReneeGood.
#MAGA claims he shot her to save his and others' lives. This might make sense if it stopped the car as I've now heard some of them claim, but that's obviously not true. And of course if she had wanted to hit him, she wouldn't have waited till he had passed at least most of the way in front of her car. The car did go forward after he shot her, proving he didn't protect himself (it didn't hit him) but did endanger others (it drove off totally out of control). Their story makes no sense. #ReneeGood
I'm seeing people trying to shut down the #GoFundMe for the asshole who killed #ReneeGood. While I'm fully against giving him anything, I am also against trying to prevent others from doing so. These kinds of efforts have successfully targeted things I supported in the past. It sucks that we have middlemen for giving people money. Just one more reason we need a protocol for bank to bank fiat transfer. Like knowing a fedi or email address, we should be able to give people money. #interledger
