A Russian “Shahed” one-way attack drone struck an apartment building in Kharkiv earlier today, killing a one-year-old baby and at least two others, and injuring at least 15 more. The strike on the northeastern Ukrainian city comes less than 24 hours before President Volodymyr Zelensky is set to meet U.S. President Donald J. Trump and several European leaders in Washington.
The U.S. and Russia have reached an understanding on security guarantees for Ukraine, but further progress now hinges on Kyiv, Trump’s envoy Witkoff said. He noted that territorial matters will be addressed in Monday’s talks with President Zelensky, adding that Moscow has offered concessions involving five Ukrainian regions.
