I have been creating gardening experiences for incarcerated folks in New Mexico. Last year, incarcerated people, both adolescents and adults in various residential facilities established multiple gardens. Spent some time in a village in Kenya teaching with the Peace Corps. Profile pic is taken at the hallowed grounds of Azovstal, where the last stand of the defenders of Mariupol, took place. It is quite bittersweet to contemplate donating to this American Friends campaign to help farmers in Gaza to distribute vegetable packets to families. My last similar donation was for a horticultural project which was destroyed by the IDF, and the last Palestinian farmer I read about engaging in a community feeding project was murdered by the IDF. How Palestinians manage to persevere through the genocide perpetrated by Israel is difficult to understand. #Palestine
