this type of thing (rich sequestered people with a private immortality-esque religion) is a precedented feature of america going all the way back to our early days. here's a letter from brigham young's sister (odd coincidence) describing something she witnessed as a little girl: https://hell.twtr.plus/media/d52b694df0ba993cdc5bcefd508dce2b2b78a62567a8673ef09bb2b6e411e54c.file https://hell.twtr.plus/media/ff52f1af34ac3583aa7307af70261db996b366c9a714e9f4d95a1c7ce3fc4fad.file
stuck in the design lab. font world lore: there is a typeface that is basically ‘comic sans 2’. its called “comic neue”, it was designed to be a more refined version of comic sans. for your consideration: https://hell.twtr.plus/media/1b4871f8126336e9913b79ffa70081780c1fe4af6ae17eea2c053db6ff17fb54.file https://hell.twtr.plus/media/8df7a68f40544621f47c711e4cc071e53f41413c8aa44160832c82bc456d0d5c.file https://hell.twtr.plus/media/c4de29abd40ddb737b2dacfc066c783eb0099514d514915859b36d2fd29435ec.file https://hell.twtr.plus/media/29f834facdc0a99a6b82be3b1fda248c5489f5d3c0a6d3511a2aaecec57333ec.file

i say this as someone with, i think, a solid “schizo” style thinking track record. i just dont like large numbers
this is my favorite example because this happened to me. i was in a situation where i handled groups of twenty to thirty people, and discussed the subject of birthdays. people had the same birthday all the time. it really makes you feel insane. you could apply this to many things
the numbers are low, 23 people is a small group, but there are so many connections between those people - that number of connections overwhelms the limited 365 days in the year, which seems much larger. you “feel” like the odds are out of 365, so it feels like a huge coincidence.
theres a property of numbers that isnt intuitive at all, that contributes to what the internet calls “schizo” thinking. example: if you take 23 people, theres a 50% chance two share a birthday. if you experienced this in real life 100 times, you would think it was significant. https://hell.twtr.plus/media/2b820338dbcacb0522124ff19f7b252ac0f39ddb76d307d5f5a5097ef5076a4e.file
