some of the images are patterns. the glow gives them a kind of platonic or spiritual microscopic feeling, like something out of an angel laboratory, or something like chladni diagrams which we have previously covered - the patterns sound makes when vibrating in salt or sand: https://hell.twtr.plus/media/a75198402346913f4c655449478b7b5babb6f5743e48fedbde22333a5451adcc.file
i thought of this because of this image, which i cannot find a larger image of due to copyright reasons. its title is today's date, but 29 years ago: 'guest 12:38 pm 8th November 1996': https://hell.twtr.plus/media/6adb10aeb7a6681e3502720b75fca8073ba2e14c829d266163125a141a8cecfb.file
christopher bucklow is an artist who creates a multiple pinhole camera from a cardboard box to take photographs of the sun. by punching the holes out into patterns or silhouettes, these thousands of tiny sun photographs form odd glowing portraits of his friends and family: https://hell.twtr.plus/media/1d133ff97ca184191b49453e23a076eefd5c163f8a28f8521659a7f59350e224.file https://hell.twtr.plus/media/0bc91f284526ece152a4f52af91093a89d03d38dc53320c95d06ed49b2db4156.file https://hell.twtr.plus/media/71af2c83286a4766a8a5e4895a7ae8dd484c737567fac909d2283cc5f856cd1c.file https://hell.twtr.plus/media/02e8db6302e2892f709d24a7b9f42ff579a8d6aa22f2a70516534afcad1d2935.file

some of the taoist immortal sculptures have a very powerful vibe. underrated in art history. here’s a 1400s sculpture of lao tzu, author of the tao te ching: https://hell.twtr.plus/media/46b17e8ec7d9edc2d1d8bf5c9a298bd372f7b40fcbefaa820e1c951f290ef714.file
i have no way to interpret this image. these guys are just wearing normal clothes. hoodie. t-shirt. collared shirt. this is a meta level i am not on: https://hell.twtr.plus/media/4f8718208e46596cdf3edb222df1a6b179e986052a31bc9e3b1d639efb30af20.file
the world would be completely different if this weren’t the case. you have probably never thought hard about your pancreas - unless it malfunctioned. if “comfort” had a form of awareness like discomfort, we would all see the world in such a different way that its hard to imagine.
it seems like there are aspects of every craft where once you crack a certain skill level, you are operating on this principle: being able to deploy “not thinking”-ness as a positive quality. interpersonal interactions have this as well: awkwardness is essentially lack of comfort
if you sit in a really comfortable chair, your awareness is free to be elsewhere entirely. the chair is excelling at being a chair because it allows you to not think about it. conversely an uncomfortable chair is a chair you cannot stop thinking about. it makes you aware of it.
a feature of this universe is: comfort feels like nothing - “comfy” is often characterized by lack of awareness. your shoes are comfy, so: you’re not always thinking about your feet. discomfort is a form of awareness. odd to apply this to specific domains: art, relationships, etc
