however, they’re not just encountering the doppleganger, they’re also creating and maintaining it. they architect and feed this double of themselves, decide its inner workings - generally to an extent far greater than they do this with the real self. absolutely psyche rupturing.

in the classical lore a doppleganger is one of the worst things you can encounter. its often seen as a sign you are going to perish imminently. its some kind of rupture in the universe, laws of identity, and signification. a kid encounters that every time they use social media.
