Media outlets that investigate and report on our behalf, being the eyes and ears of citizens, will be increasingly targeted and silenced. If you work with journalists you admire, remind them that the open social web is where the truth will be valued. They need to start building their readership here, on Mastodon or any open service. Contact journalists you know and remind them that they should invest in their future and recognize their traffic from X is controlled by someone else. #media

I'm going to start evangelizing that publishers and journalists display Mastodon and/or Bluesky links on all of their pages and invest in those communities. They need to be doubling down in places where their connection with their audience is genuine and sustainable. I'm so tired of seeing media outlets continue to support social networks that do nothing but destroy journalism!
