Maritimes Museum Hamburg

Many of you have appreciated the short video we posted recently, where three colleagues of our team brought a #ship model to its now permanent display on deck 2 of the #museum. Here are some detail pictures of that very model. It was built by Joachim Weisheit between 1993 and 200. Mr Weisheit kindly donated the model to our collection and it was about time to give it the spot it deserves. Besides the quality of the construction, it represents a ship‘s type that made history in the Age of Sail.

(1) #ships like the #bremen from 1858 brought the industrial revolution to the merchant navy. Despite her clipper hull and her three masts rigged as a bark, you may see the funnel of her steam engine hiding among the sails. Hybrid propulsion is, as you see, no recent concept. A #maritime thread.
