 and the discourse around #purity . I'm not interested in the aesthetics of #solarpunk , but how to make most with the limited tools we have. If the Wikipedia is getting scraped by the bots - losing money, potentially limiting access to its resources - or allows the AI companies in and GAINS money to share more free, human-created knowledge, I'll take the latter. I don't need to be pure.
I really love how "I was a teenage #Exocolonist " promotes #community engagement through its #gameDesign : The main game mechanic is a simple card challenge, adding enough points to beat a threshold. Where many players are naturally inclined to start developing characters attributes, spending time learning, exercising, etc - it's not what gets you cards. Forming memories with your community members does. I find that one of the most #solarpunk usages of emergent narrative in game mechanics :)
A lot of #solarpunk visions might seem sterile because they show a #utopia already realized, but with no trace of the struggle, no cultural shifts arising from the period of change. If I was to imagine a stabilized, sustainable Solarpunk world it would seem very alien and unintuitive to us. It's because it's not a technological change that's needed - but a cultural one. Things we already can do but can't perceive or describe them as viable. #writing #culture #climate #climateChange #futurism

If you are an artist who would like to do a commission for the #storySeedLibrary , please, please, do not use AI to generate an idea for yourself to draw. The whole project is about our intentionality and agency in imagining a way out of the Climate Crisis. Please do not outsource it to machines. I would be more okay with an AI-generated image based on a powerful human concept than a masterful drawing of an inhumane idea. This is not #solarpunk and this is not #art .
