| The internet shutdown in Iran was neither a fleeting technical measure nor a purely internal administrative decision. Rather, it constituted a highly significant strategic event that reshaped the balance of perception and threat in the region within just a few days. A state that disconnects itself from the global network does not do so to escape public opinion, but to prepare for a phase in which control over the information domain becomes equivalent to control over the air and maritime domains.
The pivotal event that explains the escalation in Trumpโs rhetoric and the Zionist entityโs shift into a purely defensive posture occurred several days ago, when Iran succeeded in neutralizing the satellite-based internet system imposed upon it, specifically those linked to infrastructure operated by private American companies, foremost among them the satellite network affiliated with Elon Musk.
Through this action, Iran did not isolate itself from the world; rather, it isolated its adversaries from itself and deprived them of one of the most dangerous tools of modern hegemony, namely vision.
In American and Israeli military doctrine, vision precedes the strike, and information precedes the decision. Satellite internet networks were never merely a civilian service; they have long functioned as instruments of surveillance, intelligence connectivity, and the backbone for real-time monitoring and analysis operations. When this channel is closed, it is not merely communication that is blocked.
The adversary suffers what can be described as electronic blindness, an operational paralysis that leaves the other side anticipating a strike at every moment without knowing when it will come, from where, or even how to respond.
From this perspective, one can understand both the defensive behavior of the entity and the rise in Trumpโs threatening discourse. In this case, the threat is not only a prelude to attack, but perhaps an attempt to compensate for the loss of control and to recreate deterrence through words after its technical instruments have eroded. In the same context, one can also understand why a number of states have asked their nationals to leave Iran. This is not because war has become inevitable, but because the networks of ears and eyes that once operated through cyberspace are no longer able to perform their function, nor can they guarantee even a minimum level of early warning or protection.
Nevertheless, the real picture goes beyond what is presented in the media. There exists an entire intelligence layer that does not appear in statements or headlines, yet upon it the actual calculations of states are built.
What we are witnessing is not merely rhetorical escalation, nor simply a technical decision to cut the internet, but a quiet and dangerous transition to a phase in which power itself is being redefined. Whoever possesses vision possesses the initiative, and whoever succeeds in denying it to an adversary imposes a new deterrence equation without firing a single bullet. In this gray zone between war and non-war, all possibilities remain open. What is certain, however, is that the balance of perception has been disrupted and the conflict has entered a phase different from anything that came before."
