In the past month, we started getting a few new accounts created on @npub1ypfr...53gr every day, with valid email addresses (but not under the attacker control? confirmation emails are never clicked), random 15 letter usernames from residential IPs all over the world.
After checking a few online RBLs, I started using , checking the user IP on registration, and it flagged all of them. I did not knew this service before, but it seems both cheap and with good real time data?
