My guess is that Nostr has a high population of (mostly former) X users. They're not used to having full conversations, and prefer to jump to conclusions and react before getting any clarification or understanding.
Maybe after enough years on Nostr, they'll become human again. Until then, it's best to mute, or ignore, people that prefer bashing someone before being informed.

Iโm starting to think this pattern of interaction is a natural outgrowth from this format of internet interaction. Itโs such a hook, and I fear itโll just grow on Nostr, just as it thrives on Twitter.
Make a purity statement > act appalled when people have reasonable disagreements with the totality of the statement > frame all pushback as diametrical opposition and usually proof of moral corruption.
Then just keep picking at the scab as long as it gets attention.
Conversations like this are just kinda buried.
Itโll keep happening because it works.
