HODL culture trained our brains to fear spending. Layer on a lifetime of ad based conditioning and a hardwired need for reciprocity, and you get this weird outcome. People will tip a barista $5 cuck bucks without thinking, but hesitate to zap more than 2–3 sats on Nostr. The fix is behavioral. Set a weekly zap allowance, measured in fiat, $20. Spend it freely. Don’t track reciprocity. Believe that karma will work things out. V4V only works when we stop keeping score.
I feel like HODL culture was a necessary first step to understanding bitcoin. HODL in fiat volatility, then as you spend enough time learning bitcoin you realize bitcoin is just a better money. So you use it how you would… pay for things you want and need, and save in it as opposed to saving in dollars. But i agree. I like this sentiment. just fucking load up on sats and give it away. Spread it out!!! I want to get NON KYC SATS. That is my goal for 2026
@Gigi thank you for the NON-KYC sats. I would like to obtain more.. but not via creating well thought out posts on nostr. Not my thing… How can I obtain more? I can go to a bitcoin meet up, there isn’t one locally, but I can move out further.. and that’s a good way to convert 🧻 to sats. Is there any other way that i am missing? Just ignore the question if I’m asking something that’s grey area.
