If nostr is dead because there's not enough engagement or whatever metrics people seem to care about, so be it.
I'd rather bathe in the decaying remains of nostr before going back to ad-infested, algorithm controlled, surveillance laden, soon to be digital ID requiring, normie-infested safe space censorship platforms.
I'll keep on submitting notes into the void until the last relay breaks down.
Hope you're with me. Love you all.

π― Iβm with you. We will all keep posting into the void.

I'd rather not go back to mainstream social media whatever happens to Nostr.

we will die on this hill
To the Soldiers of Nostr. Foward we match!
To the void..... and beyond
While I suppose it's possible that there may be a future alternative to nostr that's better at doing nostr, I will *never* go back to conventional social media... In fact, I had already abandoned conventional social media even before I discovered nostr.
A billboard in the desert. I feel bad for the people who built the most amazing billboard with no roads to see it.
Still new here but definitely refreshed to see no ads and forced algorithms
Nostrβs technical foundations continue to improve at a steady pace. As the rest of the world drifts toward a '1984' reality of mandatory digital IDs, Nostr will stand out more than ever as a vital beacon of freedom.
Lots of efforts to attract creators, but what about consumers (readers) or even curstors?
We need to offer content not available on other platforms and reward audiences for coming here.
"Engagement" is an ad company metric. They sell your attention. That's their game.
Nostr wasn't built to win that game. It was built to let you leave it.
A protocol doesn't need millions of users. Email works with two people. The value is the capability, not the crowd.
Keep posting. The void is listening.
Who said it's dead it is unwell yes but it can be better, algorithms are not inherently a bad thing especially if you can choose a right one among many.
Had some people I follow complain about the lack of growth and engagement which caused this post.
I was one of the first two political bans on Twitter. Despite some people being unbanned, I am informed by people close to Twitter that I am on a list of people not allowed to use the Internet, and permanently barred from the service. I will not be getting unbanned.
If you use centralized social media, as far as I am concerned, it is no different than snitching. You are encouraging your friends to use a platform that is inherently controllable by the state and actively moderated by multiple state and ethnic authorities. Those who have done time or know targets of law enforcement will be familiar with the concept of βdry snitchingβ β essentially, putting information that you know law enforcement will be interested in within public view or some sort of side channel, in hopes that you will be spared interrogation.
Using centralized services is dry snitching. Itβs controlled, itβs moderated, and those who use it at this point should be called rats that cede control of the social graph to every form of wicked undesirable imaginable. Yids, sodomites, trannies, filipinos, lawyers, hybernians β all of them can have you and everyone you know silenced and surveilled on Twitter and Facecrook. At this point, people are willfully enabling this, and I operate by prison rules. If you sit at the snitch table, you should be assumed to be a snitch yourself.
1 follower on Nostr is more precious than a million on ZOG platforms to me.
Kind of cynical, but nonetheless, your perspective is interesting. Thank you.
Bring back the guillotines.
Why is everyone saying it's dead? Doesn't feel that way to me.
Maybe it's just psyops to discourage people from fixing the internet?
Pay no heed to the retardation, Nostr isn't dead. It's probably a rumor spread by bots. They want you to go back to Twitter and engagement farm with the other robots.
Nah, just a few maximalists burnt out or disillusioned. Happens to the best of us. None of them had bot or glowie vibes.
I hope that when the last relay breaks down you'll fix it, run your own relay, and keep posting. Just so the void can keep listening.
All hail to the void!
Nostr is here to stay. We are a bunker when the censorship bombs start flying
We can acknowledge differences between platforms from a non purely ideological point of view.
Some people want more than to post into the void. They want engagement, even down to the tiniest of niches. And maybe thatβs just a numbers game and we arenβt there yet. But itβs also a bit of a catch 22.
You need numbers to gain numbers.
I literally screamed into the void for years on Mastodon because most either blocked or defederated me. I don't judge anyone using other platforms.
Just think that judging by the usual metrics doesn't work because the core elements might endure the coming years of public private partnership dystopia.

I'm only interested in Sufism and I'm not settling on any path.
I don't think there's need for that. The Digital ID is being fought big time, but there's a huge chance that it'll be pushed through because the Jesuit Superior General calls for it.
I think the reason nostr is quieter than usual was because last week all the warmongering fake bitcoiners started attacking everyone that's anti war.
Just seeing all that hate, and all the people making excuses to support Trump knowing he is a pedophile.
It drove quiet a few newer people away.
A lot of the larger accounts on here getting muted for being war mongers as well.
So just overall less interaction, people putting themselves into echo chambers or leaving when they get attacked by mobs of war mongers
