“Bitcoin was created by the CIA/NSA, but it doesn’t matter. To give wealthy people a way to opt out of CBDC.”
That’s a psyop. It subtly discredits the precursor work and, especially, *principles* of the cypherpunks. Unless we get concrete proof, I will always obstinately insist that Bitcoin was made by cypherpunks because the alternative promotes the blackpill of the immortal omnipotence of the State.
Destroying central banking and, at least, catastrophically shrinking the size and power of the State is the correct moral position. I don’t care how unlikely you think that is. If nobody thinks it is possible, then it can never happen. Someone has to believe it if it is to have any chance of happening. Blackpills beget blackpills. Onward.

Such a bizarre theory put forth by the Tucker Carlson / Dave Collum types.
Why would the State create a technology that they knew would lead to their demise?
“To lead us to a CBDC” they say. But they never bother to explain how bitcoin adoption “leads” to a CBDC. Why would I ever exchange my bitcoin for CBDC tokens?
It’s not a good theory and they don’t need it to be. They just want us to think they are omnipotent.
Well,
1. According to many Bitcoiners even around here, Bitcoin doesn’t kill or dramatically shrink the size of the State. (Wrong).
2. As for the “leads”: They say it normalizes currency being “digital”. Which is dumb because it’s already nearly all digital anyway. And cash is still fake and gay government money that can be infinitely printed.
People in group 1 have Stockholm Syndrome. Group 2 has Stockholm Syndrome and Sunk Cost fallacy.
Spot on.
I don't mind when people use that argument as a "what if", but I hate when it's being used in the way Dixon has been spouting it lately.
Yes. He was the impetus for this.
This was also somewhat about Hodl and Odell too. But don’t tag them, just for your edification.
