Not sure if I agree, but I definitely see a couple of trend that would make it feel like there are less #zap overall..
- Since #zap inception price went 5 to 7 times higher, and I noticed the amount of sats per zap dropped.
- Many big and fat zapper are no longer around #nostr or much less present than before. There were a couple of #nostriches that alone could move the daily #zap statistics
- Much more content to #zap, and many more new npub here that share new content. I believe on #nostr the ratio of people posting content and not just consume it, in comparison to platforms like Instagram for example, is much higher, so you'll need much more only consumer/zappers.
- Web of Trust, or Zap of Trust.. at the beginning the possibility you would #zap a malicious bot or fake npub were lower than they are now, it felt more like you knew everyone you were interacting with. Nowadays I believe overall people are more confident to #zap the one they know than new npubs, until they have proven legit.
