I'm an Instagram boating education content creator, and I'd love to bring my content to Nostr, I know its still a small niche audience but I thought I'd test it out to see if there's potential for influencers on this platform. I'm having difficulty though, I don't understand the relays and if incorrect selection of relays reduces reach. I also don't know how to get my content to be pushed out to people, so can I ask a big favour of the Nostr community please? Can you help me reach anyone interested in boating and a bit of humour to repost, the crap out of this note? I wanna see if I can grow through reshares, as its not working as it does in insta. I have to be honest, I’m getting a little burned out and tired of the constant stream of idiotic comments on my videos. These comments seem to stem from a wide variety of 🐊trolls, ranging from those who have never been aboard a boat before but having an opinion to those who have experience in only one type of vessel operation and think what applies on their single screw rudder wake boat applies to every other type of vessel which is not the case. I love the positive constructive comments in my clips from genuinely knowledgable people who do assist in the education process, but lately I’m getting inundated with 🫏’s and it is off putting. The point I’m trying to make with the above clip is I really don’t give a sh1t what you do on your boat as I have repeatedly said go hard and kill yourself if you like, just don’t involve innocents. (Except professional entities who have a responsibility) My content is for people who care about their safety and are prepared to take responsibility. Instagram sure is filled with all sorts of appalling conduct from all manner of muppets, and these ‘send it boys’ seem very vocal at screaming the loudest in my comments section. As far as I’m aware I’m the only instagrammer who is prepared to put his c0ck on the block and stand up for what I believe needs to be said about these idiots who’s conduct newbies are emulating. I’ts a bit lonely being the only voice calling the crap out and I am getting tired of it. There’s only so many times you can be called a Karen (politest of all the insults) before I decide I can’t be bothered anymore. I’m not making any meaningful revenue from my page and my tank of ‘fu@ks to give’ is running out despite my best will and intentions.

Firstly, not the best place to have to refuel, you are better off having a second fuel tote tank if you can get one aboard. A strategy we used aboard the RNLI D class lifeboats which have 2 fuel bladders was to burn half the fuel in one tank then switch to the second tank thereby always leaving half the first tank as emergency reserve for the rest of your trip. Fuel tanks should always be secured to the deck and not free to slide about on a boat deck as they can spill through the breather or snap the fuel line which wouldn’t be good. Standard practice with powerboat single fuel tank is to use a max third to get to your destination, use a third to get home and aim to leave a third as emergency reserve 👍🏻

I've got a fairly big lnstagram presence. It's really hard to monetise though, so your Zaps took me kinda off guard. I'm now wondering if there's any chance I could grow here and possibly be able to do what I've wanted for years and thats to convert this social media gig into a viable profession, whereby I can dedicate all my time and energy into producing awesome content promoting boating safety and thereby increased liklihood of key retention😉.
