What happens when you get a bunch of Fediverse people in a room together?

Hey @Surf and @Mike McCue, I'm a big fan of the concept of Surf, but still kind of frustrated at some of the limitations around feed curation. What would it take to get a proper Fediverse / ActivityPub / Social Web topic tag to filter stuff by? Having random cooking recipes in my feed's "Read" tab kind of brings down the experience a bit.
