I always thought to myself, that we few Whites in Africa, we've done so many things - things that are so important and it's bold and its up there on the WORLD STAGE (e.g. Boers, Boer Wars, Apartheid, Rhodesia, Colonialism). But, in the struggles of us Whites in Africa, we may have been abandoned and we "lost" becoz even the West abandoned us, but in reality, we showed how much can be achieved. I arrived here in SA at the age of 17, and I went straight to work in the SA Navy. So I never "grew up" in SA. I never went to school here. My entire life from when I arrived, I had to learn to earn money, pay my way, etc. So that's my adult life. My child's life was Rhodesia.
