What so many people fail to understand is that DEI made the pool of QUALIFIED applicants wider to include folks that have been typically and specifically left out of the opportunity to be considered for certain positions. This made the process of hiring for a position like that stronger and better and the employee the best one available, which helps everyone. This doesn’t.
