Just when you thought Google's AI Overviews couldn’t get any more controversial, on the same day the search giant rolled the service out to six new countries, a report has claimed publishers are now being given an ultimatum — allow AI scraping or lose search visibility.
Publishers have reportedly found that if they block the Googlebot from using their content for the AI-produced answers now found at the top of a search page, they will also lose the privilege of being included in standard web results. Here’s more from @Engadget :press:.
