🌿 The Amazon’s survival depends on its wildlife corridors — natural highways that let animals find food, mates, and new habitats. But deforestation, farming, and climate change are cutting these lifelines apart. image Protecting and restoring corridors means healthier ecosystems, stronger biodiversity, and support for local communities. It also keeps the Amazon thriving as a global climate shield. image Saving the forest isn’t just about wildlife — it’s about people and the planet. 🌎💚 https://www.worldwildlife.org/stories/protecting-the-amazon-s-critical-wildlife-corridors
One thing I begin to understand, AND BELIEVE ME it's not self-evident from the beginning, is that using different NOSTR clients can make different the experience in NOSTR. And this is very new (at least to me), because doesn't happen to the mainstream social media. I ve felt that a bit with Fediverse and the various apps, but with Nostr is in another level. I started with Primal for simplicity but using more and more @Amethyst makes the experience actually better. So it's very crucial for the new users to access that information pretty quickly and not turned off from the one or the other client. Of course the new environment, options and tools on Nostr are already A LOT for a newcomer to handle. How much more if they have to test several clients. As far as I ve seem myself Primal is good for the beginning but migrating to Amethyst is a must. If Amethyst gets accompanied with help guides to make this landing easier, it's the super client everyone needs.
And its name is: Vibrio pectenicida! Scientists have identified a bacterium as the cause of sea star wasting disease, which has decimated over 20 sea star species and disrupted marine ecosystems from Mexico to Alaska. image After a decade-long search, scientists have identified the cause of sea star wasting disease as a killer bacterium that melts sea stars and has wiped out entire populations across more than 20 species from Mexico to Alaska.
A refuge for Prince: the story of the rescue of a jaguar that will not be able to return to the jungle in Peru. For 15 years, Prince lived in a cement cage as the pet of a politician convicted of corruption, in the northern jungle of Peru. Today he spends his days in better conditions thanks to the care of the Pilpintuwasi rescue center. #WildlifeConservation
🐆 The Pantanal is home to the world’s densest jaguar population—but climate change, fires & deforestation put them at risk. The Jaguar ID Project uses research + tourism + community to protect them. 🌿 Support. Share. Travel responsibly. #WildlifeConservation
