Israel has caused losses in Gaza equivalent to 15 times its "pre-war" economy. @npub1r599...2mmy and UN have never estimated losses from shock this huge. Everyone in Gaza is now poor; the economy is gone. The West Bank is on the same path. Meanwhile, next door, Israel’s stock exchange is booming. image
The intimidation, smears, blackmailing and full range of vindictive tactics employed by pro-Israel groups resemble those of a mafia. The only way to stop them is not to fear them, not to be silenced by them and instead, to speak louder and louder. https://bird.makeup/@ztrk_esr/1893313980505997574
When I think that for 16 months Palestinian academics and teachers have kept teaching their students in tents or through mobile phones, while enduring carpet bombing, sniper fire, mass forcible displacement, starvation, trauma and grief - the "unpredictable security situation" claimed by [@fu_berlin]( ) truly strains credulity.
Israel’s colonial policies in Palestine have a regional dimension we cannot ignore. I urge Arab states, particularly those who have most at heart the human rights of the Palestinians, to use all channels, within and outside the UN, to ensure effective protection of the Palestinian people, and to make sure the occupation is finally brought to an end. We cannot afford to wait until the West Bank is turned into rubble like Gaza, before intervening.
