) because, rather than directly capturing political affiliation or bias within a specific frame of reference, it captures the weight that individuals give to each moral pillar. Focusing on more innate values and biases is more likely to predict political affiliation or sympathy for certain social causes than the traditional conservative/progressive or authoritarian/liberal axes.
