This is really, really good. Worth reading. RE: View quoted note →
Maybe I'm crazy, but I'm not sure "keeping kids safe at the beach" is the equivalent of "keeping kids safe on the internet" and it makes me concerned when a government regulator is using that as the analogy they're focusing on.

There is so much dumb in this, but remember when the GOP flipped out with the (misleading) claim that the IRS was targeting conservative groups and their tax exempt status? And now it's official WH policy for the IRS to target "left" leaning groups in that way. Stephen Miller's latest method of attacking free speech is falsely claiming that any criticism of authoritarianism incites violence (which isn't even the full Brandenburg standard anyway, but also... is wrong). https://oyster.us-east.host.bsky.network/xrpc/com.atproto.sync.getBlob?did=did:plc:cak4klqoj3bqgk5rj6b4f5do&cid=bafkreievfqyhzwo5j7t5otc43ycw2k3dapsfanr2myc5ycbj3p5qcatdyi
Did you hear the story this week about how Google admitted that Biden made it ban people on social media? It's making the rounds in the MAGAverse. It's also not accurate. The real story is Google caving to pressure from Jim Jordan. RE:
