This morning’s run. It’s been practically summer-like (okay, not Barcelona summer-like but a cool summer day in the upper Midwest or Northeastern U.S.) the last few days, but the temps are supposed to drop quite a bit this week. Plus I’ll be in Madrid two days for a conference on women’s fútbol, I need to find where I have my gloves stored! #running #barcelona #runnersofmastodon image
Penn student Florence Onyiuke was named a Rhodes Scholar. Her thesis was on the informal economy and socioeconomic mobility for West African street vendors in Barcelona. #education #penn #barcelona #economics
I thought this piece was very good. On how almost everyone is worried about work/holding onto a job, racked with anxiety and on the lack of stability most of us live with. #work #capitalism #life
I went to the Panenka Fest in Barcelona this weekend. The monologue by Zuhaitz Gurrutxaga was among the best I’ve ever seen. I didn’t know who he was, besides a former ⚽️ player. He did a tremendous job, talking about his three years in first division in Spain, all while dealing with severe depression, anxiety and OCD (not the entire time). He’s now a comedian, and really delivers from the heart. #comedy #futbol #football #Soccer image
The actress Famke Jannsen gives a shoutout to Oslo West 10th, the coffeeshop in the West Village that I used to go to daily. Great people and great coffee! I always found her very nice as well. #nyc #westvillage #coffee
