We reached the summit of Stratton Mountain to be greeted by the first moose either of us had ever seen. Theyâre huge BTW. I met this hiker at the first AT shelter in Vermont. (Trail name = Beardo). He was indeed hiking with a home made ultralight backpack constructed from a dog food bag. The motto of long distance hikers is "Hike your own hike". This is what that means. image
