Although I enjoy Bluesky, I still count Mastodon as my true social media home. The funding for Bluesky ensures its inevitable enshittification. Also, Wired should stop referring to everyone who isn't a Nazi as a lefty.

I remember this day for one spectacular disappointment - weâd planned to visit a privately owned shelter near the trail that had an actual flush toilet instead of a privy, but we couldnât find it for some reason. I was so sad. We stopped at this primeval looking spot to eat lunch. -

Southern Maine has some of the best hiking in the US. Bald Pate Mountain is fun on a dry day, but if it is raining, take the day off. This is the south side. The northern side is just a steep granite sliding board with the occasional bush to grab. The view from the top is magnificent. #hiking #AppalachianT... social.lol

One of my proudest accomplishments as a parent is raising anti-racist kids who are passing on the same values to their kids. I'm grateful to my parents who grew up in the Jim Crow south for not letting me be poisoned with race hatred.

Just attended a music recital for two of our grandchildren at an old Baptist church. I don’t think the pastor was shown the music choices since different kids played Taylor Swift, Radiohead, Foo Fighters and my personal favorite, Crazy Train by Ozzy Osborne.
