Apparently my work laptop was really low on disk space. The way I found out was installing the #DuckDuckGo browser. I was like "oh, they have a browser? I'll have a look." Suddenly my laptop starts moaning about low disk space. What the hell, DuckDuckGo?
This is a treemap of my disk usage from a program called GrandPerpsective. At the very bottom you can see I have moused over a file and it says:
Library/Containers/com.duckduckgo.macos.browser/Data/Library/Application Support/Database.sqlite-wal with a file size of 6.9Gb. There's another file in there (you can see it visually directly beneath) that is another 2Gb. What is my browser doing soaking up 9Gb of disk space?
Also, it look like a skin of #Chrome. So, I'm a little less enthusiastic.
So yeah, I deleted a bunch of crap I didn't need. But WTH?
