🗓️ One year ago, the #AIAct officially became EU law. 🚨 One year on, the enforcement and implementation of the landmark law has been riddled with challenges. Worryingly, EU lawmakers seem to be caving in to calls from tech companies to pause, delay and even gut crucial parts of the #AIAct - which will be disastrous for our right. This is also in line with EU's own #deregulation push ❌ Here's what's happening with the #AIAct and our recommendations to the Commission ⤵️

📝 Yesterday, nine civil society organisations, including @EDRi, submitted a joint complaint against X for violating the #DSA by using people’s sensitive personal data for targeted ads. 🚨 This is banned under the DSA because it can lead to higher risk of discrimination, harm and violations of users’ fundamental rights. Together, we are calling for Digital Services Coordinators and the European Commission to investigate X, and hold it to accountable ✊🏽 Read more ⤵️
