Mon Dieu! "She [claimed she] had earned a degree in education from East Carolina University in 1969; it was actually in French. . . She said she had believed her degree was in education because she did a semester of student-teaching and, after state testing, had a certificate to teach."
Percival Everett's brilliant James won the National Book Award for Fiction. If you haven't read it, you must! And if you haven't read Huck Finn (ever or recently), you might want to read that first. Everett wrote the story that Twain couldn't. It's really an extraordinary accomplishment. We're so lucky he gave us this gift (and The Trees and Erasure and so many more amazing novels).

Before #RFK slashes the #NIH budget, he should go to an #ADRC, an Alzheimer's Disease Research Center funded by the National Institute on Aging (#NIA is part of NIH), & see the extraordinary work scientists & researchers are doing, & the outreach by nurses & healthcare professionals.
Better yet, he should go to a memory care unit & see the work yet to be done to help people who don't know their loved ones, themselves, are wheelchair-bound, are suffering, in pain.

Whatever happens today, I will hold onto the fact that on this day in 1851, a beautiful and great gift entered the US. Moby-Dick was published by Harper & Brothers. Everything I have needed to know, I have found in its pages.

"Hegseth is the ultimate in cubic zirconia manhood." A brilliant line by @npub19uv5...0rmu.
I do hope we get more information as to why the army "spit him out." Remember #Congress, that's what the hearings are for.
