It really sucks that culturally we're wired to only give feedback to developers or projects when things are broken.
A product with 15M users gets 100 complaints and only 1 nice "good job" message per month.
It's really demoralizing that we accepted the fact that "if you don't hear from them it means things are good".

As we go through hiring a few new people at Thunderbird, it's shocking to see how many P4 and P5 decide to apply for P2 and P3 roles, specifying in their cover letter that they're willing to get a lower salary and role, some because they can't find anything else, others because they come from abusive places and VC funded hellholes.
Folks, it's brutal out there and my heart goes to all the people looking for work and going through these painful times.
