Dale Schroeder, an unmarried carpenter from Iowa, had no kids to leave his savings to. He worked for a company for 67 years and saved up his entire life to support college education for students
After he passed away in 2005, his legacy lived on as he sponsored the college education of 33 strangers, many of whom became successful doctors, teachers, and therapists.
Today, the 33 strangers have formed a group and call themselves "Dale's kids".
