A recent report by the British Parliament exposes Israel's secret nuclear program, highlighting decades of strategic silence and lack of international pressure. The report details that Israel maintains a policy of ambiguity, "neither confirming nor denying the existence of its nuclear weapons."
According to estimates, Israel possesses between 80 and 90 nuclear warheads, with enough material to manufacture up to 200. The report mentions the Dimona facility, publicly presented as a civilian reactor, but believed to have produced plutonium for more than 100 nuclear weapons. It also refers to the case of Mordechai Vanunu, a technician who revealed photographic evidence in 1986, confirming suspicions about Israel's nuclear program, and who was imprisoned for it.
Despite the evidence, Israel has not been subject to the same international scrutiny as other nuclear-armed states, and has voted against UN resolutions promoting a nuclear-weapon-free zone in the Middle East.
