yea the number of people saying “there is no algorithm” surprises me. there is! it’s Discover. sure it’s one of many but it’s the official supported one. it does show people you follow quite a bit so it acts more like For You. and it takes explicit signals (likes, “show less”) into account. RE:

my cynical take is that facebook is embracing AP *because* it doesn’t help deliver the kind of user experiences (algos, global search) expected by a global mainstream userbase. i missed a few meetings due to the 10 minute thing. the system that ended up working perfectly for me is setting an alarm (literally alarm) for each next non-consecutive meeting, and i’m *only* allowed to snooze it (and turn off when the meeting starts). after meeting ends, always set the next one RE:
