The Russian government took Lyudmila Navalnaya to see the body of her son, the political opposition figure Alexei Navalny:
"The investigators claimed they knew the cause of death and made me sign a death certificate. According to the law, I should have left with my son's body, but they prohibited me. Instead, they began to blackmail me, saying the body must be buried secretly and without any witnesses present. And in the end, they said:
'Madam, you have to decide quickly because the body is decomposing, so you know...'"
Putin issued a new arrest warrant for her other son, Oleg Navalny, who has been on Russia's wanted list since January 2022.
