I might go ahead and delete my Discord account over the weekend. Things are looking pretty bad for it. I never enjoyed using it to the extent that I loved its predecessors, like AIM, but I do think that it was fairly fun while it lasted. To be clear, while I understand why it might be easy for some people to do this, as with tools like Facebook and Twitter, these platforms were originally created to encourage human connection and interaction. It's very difficult to sacrifice that when not everyone that you know will be willing to do the same. And just saying "well, then those people aren't worth it" devalues the human experience of connection and interaction that was had.
