Big news.
The Supreme Court will hear two cases involving male athletes competing in women's sports.
The cases are Little (the Governor of Idaho) v. Hecox and West Virginia v. BPJ.
In both cases, states have laws on the books protecting female-only sports, and male athletes (Hecox and BPJ) sued. Both cases went up on appeal, and in both, the appellate courts ruled in favor of the male athletes. The states asked the Supreme Court to weigh in.
[@wdi_usa](
) filed briefs in support of the states and I'm happy the Supreme Court has taken this step (full disclosure: I represent [@wdi_usa](
) on the briefs).
At stake in both cases is the question of whether women and girls are allowed to exist as a discrete sex class in the law.
Let's go.
