We've released the second beta of #Mastodon 4.4 - including some UI fine tuning and new updates, additional integration for Fediverse Auxiliary Service Providers, and more progress on support for incoming quote posts. Please give it a try on your instance, if you can - we appreciate feedback. 🪧 Next up will be a Release Candidate, and then the full release itself 🤞🏻

The first beta release of Mastodon 4.4.0 is ready for testing! Many user-facing improvements: featured content, updates for lists, follower management, new emoji, and refreshed audio and media players. For server owners: new legal features, moderation tweaks, announcements updates, upgraded software stack, and some experimental feature options. Please test it out, and provide feedback 💬

We just released Mastodon 4.3.8 and 4.2.21. They contain a few minor bug fixes and a minor security fix. We're laying the groundwork to retire Redis namespaces from a future release of the Mastodon server code. See the update from @David Roetzel on GitHub - and let us know in that discussion if you have additional questions.
Note for app developers 💻 the future Mastodon 4.4 release will contain an option for server admins to require a minimum age for user sign-up. If enabled, the sign-up API will behave differently. This is a change that some developers will need to know about, so we wanted to tell you about it in advance. More background in the discussion post on our repository.
