A hacking group named GhostR claims it hacked the World-Check screening database.
The group told TechCrunch they stole the data last month from a Singapore-based firm with access to the World-Check database.
The database is used for security clearances in the public and private sectors. It contains the names of individuals believed to have ties to terrorist organizations, organized crime, or sanctioned entities.
