The Temple of Aphaia on Aegina Island, Greece, was built around 500โฏB.C. It is a Doric temple dedicated to the goddess Aphaia, with beautifully carved pediments showing scenes from the Trojan War. It predates the Parthenon and represents the transition from Archaic to Classical Greek art.
