After my catchless time at the river I watched a hawk nearly take a rooster from the hillside but the rooster managed to get away unhurt. The bouldering gym was great for the boys and they wore themselves out nicely. So nice having the fly shop 7 miles from the house and from my nearest fishing spot. Stopped in in the morning and got a pair of waterproof gloves then went fishing for a bit. Another 3 rainbow trout caught and released. Crazy how good the mayfly patterns work! I'm printing off a bunch of magnetic clips. I'm hoping the magnets will be strong enough to hold the net to me without it falling off. I tried paragliding yesterday but the gust front hit and kept me on the ground. I was glad as watching Chris be the air-dummy it didn't look that enjoyable. Live to fly another day. So instead I went home and tried my new fly rod setup at the river and ended up landing 3 small rainbow trout and hooked a 4th in half an hour. OMG I love my new fly rod. Walked the 1/4 mile to the river and my first outing with the gear was superb! All little rainbow trout, 6-8", so got let go to get bigger. I cast about 20 - 25 times and hooked 4 fish and landed 3 in 30 minutes. SOOOO HAPPY! #flyfishing #fishing #myprecious #joy

FINALLY I have broken down and gifted myself a new fly rod reel and line setup. I picked up hte Echo TRaverse kit which is a 9' #5 and an all matched set. My feather light rod just couldn't give me the distance on casts that I need so it was well past time to upgrade to a proper serup. Nicely the 10% off coupon more than paid the taxes. The fan cowling works badass for the mini pc and keeps it 30F+ cooler than without. Very useful addition to the setup. The carport is ordered for the wintertime truck repairs and will be here next week. The fence line is getting planned to try and finish enclosing the farm. It is a week of rain deluges now as the "atmospheric river" is aimed at the region. I'm fine with it for now but it damned well better turn to snow by the end of the month. We have our passes we need to get well more than our moneys worth out of. So this came off the printer yesterday and I am pretty blown away by it. NASA Fabric print is amazing. I have a lot of ideas for use cases for it and am now trying to figure out the best way to attach the sheets together.... I can easily see a shirt made of this, or scaled taller as possible armor on a battle bot... Elon's remarks on #simulationtheory are VERY convincing... You know you feel like we live in the Matrix, just like many of us do. Notice how it seems like we are in SimCity and suddenly civil unrest is turned up, then natural disasters get ramped up for a bit? The concept of the most interesting simulations being the ones allowed to continue fits this feeling.

Well, it's home again. A bit bittersweet but still better having it home than not. Thankfully the tow driver was super cool and he and his wife made a small trip out of it. I hooked them up with a bunch of potaotes and garlic as thanks which they both were very happy for.
